How does it work?
Logynon contains two chemicals: ethinylestradiol, which is a synthetic form of oestrogen, and levonorgestrel, a synthetic form of progestogen. These work together to prevent pregnancy in three ways. Firstly, the body is tricked into thinking that ovulation has occurred, meaning that no egg is released. However, even if an egg were released it would be difficult for it to become fertilised, as the Logynon pill will have also thickened the cervical mucus. Lastly, a fertilised egg would be unable to cling to the womb, as the lining will be thinner.

How do you take it?

You should take one pill per day in the correct order as they contain different amounts of hormones.
