A chemistry lecturer in Britain created a Cialis production factory in his house, with the aim of manufacturing counterfeit versions of the erectile dysfunction medication.
Christiaan Winkel’s plot was uncovered by police officers, after an investigator for Eli Lilly (Cialis manufacturer) got in touch with Winkel on an internet forum, whilst posing as someone who would like to work with him. Undercover police met with Winkel, sabotaged production and arrested him. Appearing in court the scientist admitted that he had planned to produce fake Viagra and Cialis, with the intention of selling them on.
The Dutch National was previously a lecturer in organic chemistry at University College London. Alongside Cialis, he had planned to create Ecstasy tablets. His accomplice in the plan was a local council worker named Safa Ba Seidi, who has also been charged, along with Winkle’s girlfriend who is charged with conspiracy to defraud. The three will be sentenced this afternoon according to The Independent.
Cialis manufacturers Eli Lilly are making substantial efforts to reduce drug counterfeiting. Border police are also becoming wiser to the smuggling tactics of Cialis counterfeiters. The erectile dysfunction drug is one of the most popular ways to treat impotence, alongside Viagra and Levitra, but as with these other medications, Cialis has been increasingly counterfeited by criminal gangs around the world. Counterfeit Cialis may contain dangerous ingredients.
