Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has revealed that his role for his upcoming movie Buried left him with some bumps and bruises, as well as a bald spot.
The star of Van Wilder had to shoot grueling sequences in side of a coffin for 2 weeks for his new role. In the movie, Reynolds plays a truck driver who is kidnapped and buried alive in Iraq with only a lighter and a cell phone to attempt to escape from certain death. The movie is set to be released in the next few weeks and proved particularly tough to shoot for Reynolds.
Worn away patch
“I was shocked how physical the film was. (Director) Rodrigo (Cortes) actually created action sequences within the coffin. I don’t think I was expecting to be moving around and using the box. But I was slamming against it,” said Reynolds.
“By the end of the film – I’d lost a lot of skin, was bleeding and had worn away a patch of hair on the back of my head from pressing down for so long” he added.
Reynolds is not the old famous face who has suffered from hair loss recently. Last month it was revealed that Tiger Wood’s ex-wife Elin Nordegren suffered from severe hair loss. In Miss Nordegren’s case the hair loss had been a result of the extreme stress that she has been under.
Hair loss
The most common form of hair loss for men is male pattern baldness, but other reasons can be behind baldness, as Mr. Reynolds’ case proves. In fact, 1 in 2 men experience some form of hair loss after the age of 30. Several men choose to treat hair loss through a number of different methods. Many choose to use treatments such as Propecia, whilst others choose hair loss transplants or simply wear wigs.
